Answers:

How can I download the cake guides and videos to my computer?

There are download links for the pdf documents and the videos for each recipe. Just click them. :)

If you want to download a file to your computer but it opens in your browser instead, follow these steps:

  • Right-click the download link (on Mac: control-click)
  • select “save target as…” from the context menu that pops up
  • choose the location on your computer where you want to store the file

If you are using the Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) and you don’t see the “save target as” option in the context menu, you may need to deactivate the “content advisor”. Follow method 1 as described HERE to deactivate this “feature”.

How can I view or print out the pdf documents (cake guides)?

You need the free Adobe Reader to view the pdf files. Download it at http://get.adobe.com (look for “Download Adobe Reader”).

TIP: On the download page, uncheck the mark in the checkbox to prevent installation of any optional products (like McAfee or Google Chrome). You only want the free Adobe Reader, right? ;)

How can I view the downloaded videos on my computer?

The videos are in MP4 format. You can view them with the Windows Media Player (Windows) or with Quicktime Video Player (Mac). If your player doesn’t play the videos correctly, make sure you have the newest version installed on your computer. You find the newest versions of these players here:

Or, just do a google search for “free mp4 player”.

What is a “ZIP file” and what do I do with it?

ZIP files are compressed file archives. In other words, a ZIP file contains one or more files in a compressed format. To “unzip” a ZIP file and use the contained files, you need a (free) unarchive software. On many computers, these are already pre-installed. If you are using Windows 7 on your computer, it’s even easier, as you can see HERE (video).

Some free archiving programs are:
